The A List – Summer Savers

The A List – Summer Savers

With Christmas and the spendy season behind us, like us, you are probably now well and truly focused on those penny pinching resolutions and saving for the next big expense. Perhaps a tropical getaway somewhere so this divine summer never has to end?

While the year always starts with the best of intentions to put extra cash away, we totally understand that sometimes it’s just so hard!

So, here at The Generalist we’ve gone out of our way to hunt out the best free summer activities to keep the holiday dream alive and still leave your bank account sitting pretty.

Auckland Council Movies in Parks

There’s something so romantic about a picnic blanket under the setting summer sun and a movie with that someone special, or maybe a night out with you best gal pals is just what you need.

Whatever the case, throughout January, February and March, Auckland Council is bringing all your favourite movies, including The Fault in Our Stars, Jersey Boys and Frozen for the little ones, to local parks.

While you’re there, keep an eye out for the Schwarzkopf Hair Care Emergency Ambulance, who will be at selected events handing out amazing products and styling your locks – all for free!

Kick back and listen to top Kiwi artists, including Jamie McDell, The Feelers, Titanium and Tahuna Breaks in some of our great city’s most beautiful spots – perfect for low key weekends when rest and relaxation is top priority.

Silo Night Market

Running Friday nights during summer from 5pm, Wynard Quarter’s beloved Silo Night Market is the perfect place to spend a laid back evening, ogling the varied stalls.

Here crafty inspiration is plentiful in the gorgeous artisan stands and it’s impossible to ignore the delicious smells wafting from the many food trucks.

Entry is free and if all that stall-browsing works up a thirst, you can’t go past an ice cold brew from Silo Bar.
