With Christmas and the spendy season behind us, like us, you are probably now well and truly focused on those penny pinching resolutions and saving for the next big expense. Perhaps a tropical getaway somewhere so this divine summer never has to end?
While the year always starts with the best of intentions to put extra cash away, we totally understand that sometimes it’s just so hard!

Auckland Council Movies in Parks
There’s something so romantic about a picnic blanket under the setting summer sun and a movie with that someone special, or maybe a night out with you best gal pals is just what you need.
Whatever the case, throughout January, February and March, Auckland Council is bringing all your favourite movies, including The Fault in Our Stars, Jersey Boys and Frozen for the little ones, to local parks.
While you’re there, keep an eye out for the Schwarzkopf Hair Care Emergency Ambulance, who will be at selected events handing out amazing products and styling your locks – all for free!
Auckland Council Music in Parks
If music is more your thing, round up a bunch of mates and some yummy picnic treats and head along to Auckland Council Music in Parks.
Kick back and listen to top Kiwi artists, including Jamie McDell, The Feelers, Titanium and Tahuna Breaks in some of our great city’s most beautiful spots – perfect for low key weekends when rest and relaxation is top priority.
Silo Night Market
Running Friday nights during summer from 5pm, Wynard Quarter’s beloved Silo Night Market is the perfect place to spend a laid back evening, ogling the varied stalls.
Here crafty inspiration is plentiful in the gorgeous artisan stands and it’s impossible to ignore the delicious smells wafting from the many food trucks.
Entry is free and if all that stall-browsing works up a thirst, you can’t go past an ice cold brew from Silo Bar.
If the hustle and bustle of returning to work is catching up with you, why not take a little time to find your inner-zen with free introductory meditation classes?

Combining the quirky, bendy and seriously talented, Auckland’s 15th Annual International Buskers Festival is hosting nine of the most spectacular street performers around.
These guys take multi-tasking to a whole new level, with one riding his skate board breathing and juggling fire at the same time!
